Kazushi Yamashita has been the Music Director of the Aichi Chamber Orchestra since 2022, the orchestra's 20th anniversary. One of the results of both of them, the complete works of Schumann symphonies, is now completed. The duo has been steadily improving their ensemble and tone quality since their appointment, and are highly acclaimed in terms of performance. This performance conveys the sense of unity that has developed between the two musicians over the years. Kazushi Yamashita, who served as Karajan's assistant when he was young, can be said to be at his best in the Schumann symphonies, which form the core of German-Austrian music. The performance has a thick, imposing sound, and is built with a heightened sense of exuberance. The Aichi Chamber Orchestra's fresh tone brought Schumann to life. This is one of the fruits of this duo, which will take a further leap forward in the future. This is a performance of their best. (C)RS
