The following year, in 1968, the band released the controversial live album "Kick Out The Jams," which still continues to shock the rock world today. This album is selected and commentated by music critic/commentator Gaku Torii, who had a close relationship with the band's core member, Wayne Kramer, as well as their manager, John Sinclair, who could be considered the sixth member of the band. This gem, which gets to the very heart of the band, is a collection of their original songs that they covered on their singles, albums, and live performances.The first album opens with Jerry Lee Lewis' "Ramblin' Rose," which they covered as "I Want You Right Now," The Troggs' "I Want You," John Lee Hooker's "The Motor City Is Burning," the "King of Boogie," and the second album's title track, "Back In The USA," which they covered as "I Want You Right Now. Burning" by John Lee Hooker, "The Motor City Is Burning" by John Lee Hooker, and "Back In The USA" by Chuck Berry, which was the title of their second album, and a wide selection of rock and roll, blues, and free jazz such as Archie Shepp and Sun Ra. This is a one-of-a-kind work that allows you to experience their roots music, which is the source of their unique sound and message that has inspired us all. ～Dedicated to the members of the MC5 and their manager, John Sinclair, who sadly passed away.
