The second volume is Schuricht's complete first live appearance on UHQCD! Masterful recording by Yecklin! Excellent realism. The second release from MAGISTRALE, a new label with a planning office in Essex, England. This is a live performance of Schuricht's final years, for which no pirate recordings existed. The master musician, who disliked the rise of the Nazis, fled to Switzerland in 1944 and died there. The Basel Symphony Orchestra, Weingartner's favorite orchestra, was also driven to this moving live performance. The music is all his favorites, but he must have been in good physical condition, because he played music of intense amplitude. The "Haffner" was a powerful fast ball. The fugue by Reger is so magnificent that it is almost over the top. The Brahms is a thriller that moves back and forth between frustration and repose, based on a slender form. The conductor's magical control of the strings to highlight the brass was both impressive and convincing. The recording was made by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, which prides itself on its technology, and by Jurg Jecklin, who later established his own label. The fact that the recording is on UHQCD, a format that Japan is proud to offer to the world, also makes this an outstanding performance. Muse Trade
