BEBOP-KANJI presents to bebop fans/hard bop fans all over the country, a bop ball box! 10 tracks of jazz piano royalty! This album was planned as a replacement for the Kanji Ota Quartet's live tour in 2020, which had to be canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus. The original plan was to record half of the quartet and half of the trio, but the quintet was joined by Kunihiro Kikuta on trumpet, and the performance was divided into a piano trio and a quintet, adding the performance recorded at the after-hours session after the scheduled recording session. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 were released simultaneously. The piano trio on Vol. 1 is composed mainly of standard numbers and a few bebop numbers, while the quintet on Vol. 2 is composed mainly of bebop numbers.
