A new production of "Parsifal" was staged at the Schiller Theater in Berlin. The production was directed by Dmitry Cherniakov, who has been rapidly gaining attention recently, and since he often makes radical readings, this Parsifal was also a play that had a mixture of expectation and anxiety before its performance. The story is a medieval epic that is full of emotions and various religious beliefs. The stage is therefore somewhat difficult to follow, but Barenboim's music is as clear and sacred as ever, perfectly embodying the world Wagner (1813-1883) wanted to create.
