This work from 1959, when he began his career as an up-and-coming composer, is truly a piece filled with sparking tension. The sound is not violent, but only transparent. It is pleasant to feel as if various sounds are released into the atmosphere and change color. This is a painting by sound that I recommend to lovers of Ondes Martenots. I also recommend the Piano Concerto, which begins like Prokofiev. The interplay between percussion and piano is superb. In the second movement, the sounds fly again. Flutes flying around the piano intertwined with a sobbing violin. ...... Naxos Japan
