There are many singers who have steadily developed their abilities and before long have established a firm position in the world's opera houses. This is especially true of baritones and mezzo-sopranos, such as Vollle. Michael Wolle (Folle) was born in Freudenstadt, Schwarzwald in 1960, has won numerous competitions, and has been singing at the Bavarian State Opera since the 2007/8 season. His brother Hartmut is a well-known actor. He sings a varied repertoire not only in Bavaria, but also in opera houses all over Europe, and is actively engaged in recitals as a concert singer. His repertoire ranges from German operas by Wagner, Mozart, and R. Strauss to Tchaikovsky and Debussy. She also specializes in operettas, which are included in this album.The album also features stunning songs by Wagner and Verdi, whose bicentennial will be celebrated in 2013. Naxos Japan
