This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of "Mere Old Man Z", a masterpiece science fiction animation film produced by Katsuhiro Otomo (original story, screenplay and mechanical design), Hisashi Eguchi (character design) and Hiroyuki Kitakubo (director). To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of the film, which still enjoys strong popularity in Japan and abroad, the soundtrack, which is currently out of print and hard to find, is being re-released in the latest remastered and high quality Blu-spec CD2 format. The music is by Fumi Itakura, a genius who has led unique bands such as Chakra and Killing Time. The soundtrack, which includes diverse elements such as industrial techno, ethnic, and contemporary music, is sometimes boldly processed and edited to create an appealing soundtrack that is independent of the film. The ending theme song is sung by Ogawa Mishio, a close friend from the Chakra era. The accompanying booklet contains the latest interviews with Katsuhiro Otomo, Hisashi Eguchi, Hiroyuki Kitakubo, and Fumi Itakura, making this a must-have for "Mere Old Man Z" freaks with a lot of material value!
