It is hard to imagine that there are so many people who know the news of the drumming prodigy who appeared in his youth, but the memory of his drumming during the 18 years he spent in New York is already a thing of the past, The more I listen to "The Force", the more it seems to tell the truth of the past. The Force" is a compelling listen, as the 18 years of living in New York have nurtured his natural playing style, plus his hard work and new values of receptiveness. The Force's all-encompassing leadership and inclusiveness motivates the group, and their attention to detail creates a passionate atmosphere in the audience. The Force" is a great example of his musicianship as a drummer and his presence as a leader. Both members, Cheryl Bailey (Gtr) and Brian Charette (Org), are truly a young generation of musicians with a New York flair, and are great musicians at the forefront.Guest Toshiyuki Honda (Sax), who is a good friend of Shingo Okudaira's, also provides a wonderful line on this album, playing unrestrained melodies along with the groove-filled, heavy rhythm that Shingo Okudaira taps out. The Force" means "power," but it is also a word that can be translated as "force," as this is Shingo Okudaira's fourth album in 10 years.
