Influenced by João Gilberto's performance style, Mugi Furukawa began performing as a solo performer, and is now available on LP as "far/close," the first album by Mugi Furukawa, a singer and songwriter who is also a supporting member of cero! Mugi Furukawa, born in Oakland, California, is a talented musician with a sense of wonder who also works with Hyogen, Doppelzimmer, and cero. The album contains a number of his own compositions spun with his unique sensibility and a stateless sound world where bossa nova, folk music, jazz, classical, and pop music are delicately and exquisitely folded together. Not only the perfection of the music, but also the detailed arrangements, such as soft horn sounds and strings, are quite well crafted. This is a great masterpiece that even Konishi Koyo sends his compliments!
