A beautiful parody of Dowland's "Flow, My Tears" and others A song that was very popular in the Baroque era, Dowland's "Flow, My Tears," which is intoxicating with the warmth of an ancient music ensemble. Many composers have quoted and parodied this song. Daniel's "Ugly Eyes," also included here, is a parody that impresses with its careful workmanship. The striking descending figure of the fourth degree is reminiscent of a falling tear. The three performers are an ensemble of artists who received soloist diplomas at Dutch conservatories such as Amsterdam and Den Haag at the same time. Recorded at the Art Court Gallery with its excellent acoustics, the warm atmosphere of the ensemble and the charm of each instrument are captured without regret. ［Comments courtesy of King International.]
