Description:
Roger Nichols composed many hit songs including "Rainy Days and Mondays" and "Love Prelude" for the Carpenters. 1968 was his only leader album, which was not a hit at the time, but was first released on CD in Japan in the 1980s. In the 1990s, Tatsuro Yamashita and Yasuhiro Konishi, among others, named him as one of their favorite composers, and the album suddenly attracted attention, and is now a standard-bearer for soft rock and sunshine pop. This is the first "Roger Nichols-approved" songbook in Japan, selected and supervised together with Roger by anthologist Takashi Hamada, with whom Roger has had a close relationship both publicly and privately. The songs included in the book range from well-known classics that everyone is familiar with to rare 7" only releases that have never been released on CD, which are coveted by soft-rock fans. Since he has been relatively quiet as a professional composer, this album provides a bird's eye view of his activities, and includes many world and Japan first CD releases! (C)RS
