Urban fusion masterpiece with impressive illustrations by Hideto Suzuki! Katsumi Horii PROJECT's first album "HOT IS COOL" released in 1987 is now being reissued in analog format on Clear Blue Vinyl! Katsumi Horii, a composer, arranger, and professor at Tokyo College of Music, has composed and produced music for TV, animation, commercials, movies, and stage productions, including music for the "Doraemon" movie series (1999-2005) and music for the NHK TV series (Asadora). The first album of this fusion project, which features many top-notch musicians, reflects the atmosphere of the late 1980s, with a catchy urban fusion style that makes extensive use of synthesizers and programming rhythms. The project started with the concept of collaboration with popular illustrator Hideto Suzuki. The reissue was cut based on high-spec sound data digitally converted to 96Khz/24bit from the original master tapes, and pressed at Sony Music's domestic factory for a complete limited production.
