The latest work from Duke Robillard, the legendary guitarist who knows roots music inside out, having been active since the 60s as a member of Roomful of Blues and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, as well as a session player backing Bob Dylan, John Hammond, and others! In addition to originals, this album features songs by Tampa Red, Floyd Dixon, Lee Doo-Shee, Joe Haywood, and more, from jump, blues, and R&B of the 50s and 60s to Tom Weyts' numbers, all delivered with a highly polished vintage sound. Duke Robillard was born in 1948 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He is the founder of Roomful of Blues, a band formed in the late 60s and based in Boston. The band gained attention with their sophisticated performances of jazz and jump blues with a nine-piece lineup. After releasing several albums, in the 90s, he joined the Fabulous Thunderbirds as guitarist after Jimmy Vaughan left, participating in the acclaimed album "Hot Stuff".Concurrently, he has consistently released solo albums such as 1988's "Rockin' Blues" and 2004's "New Guitar Summit," with the total now exceeding 20. His 2015 album "Acoustic Blues & Roots of" won the BMA Acoustic Album of the Year award. He continues releasing albums nearly every year, including the 2017 jazz album Duke and His Dames of Rhythm, which featured numerous female vocalists as guests. He has also participated in many albums and tours as a producer and guitarist for artists like Bob Dylan, Pinetop Perkins, and Snuffy Priar. He is truly a giant in the blues world.
