This is the first original album in 10 years from Mississippi blues singer and pianist Eden Brent, who has won many music awards including the Blues Music Award. This is a masterpiece of New Orleans style, boogie-woogie piano blues, and gorgeous country-soul ballads. Popular British guitarist Rob Updegraff, who has played back-up for Jamie Cullum and others, provides the supporting cast. Eden Brent hails from Mississippi. He studied under pianist Boogaloo Ames in Greenville, and began performing at local clubs and restaurants around 1984. His rolling boogie style piano playing, which encompasses all genres including blues, jazz, soul, and pop, as well as his passionate vocals reminiscent of Bessie Smith, Diana Krall, and other jazz singers, and even Janis Joplin on occasion, have won him a steady stream of fans. In 2003, she made her debut with the self-produced Something Cool. He has continued to perform consistently since then, and has gradually expanded his activities, including being selected for the International Blues Challenge, a gateway to success for indie artists.In 2008, he signed with Yellow Dog Records and released his official debut album, "Mississippi Number One". The album won various awards including the Blues Music Award. In 2010, he released "Aint Got No Trouble" and in 2014 "Jigsaw Heart" to critical acclaim. 2018 saw the release of his Christmas album.
