This is the 10th album in 6 years by Madeline Perreault, a pioneer of jazz and folk singer-songwriter. The album features the talented Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Elliott Shiner, with the full cooperation of guitarist John Herrington, who is known for his work with Steely Dan and others, in the composition and arrangement. Although she has often given her own unique arrangements of classic songs from the past, this time she is going all out with original compositions! This ambitious album features lyrics with a sharp perspective on political and social issues, and is performed over a variety of musical genres, including jazz, folk, Latin, and chanson. Madeleine Perreault is a jazz singer/songwriter born in 1974 in Georgia, USA. After spending her childhood in California and New York, she moved to Paris with her mother at the age of 13 after her parents' divorce. 2 years later, she began working as a street musician in the Latin Quarter, and gained experience in jazz groups such as the Riverboat Shuffles. He was discovered by Atlantic Records and made his debut with "Dreamland" in 1996. In 2004, she teamed up with producer Larry Klein and released her return album, "Careless Love," which was a big hit.Half the Perfect World" in 2006, which featured guests such as KD Lang and Walter Becker, was also a hit and established a firm position. Since then, he has consistently released "Bare Bones" (2009), "The Blue Room" (2013), and "Anthem" (2018), among others. She has been called "post-Joni Mitchell" for her genre-defying music that reimagines classic songs by Leonard Cohen, Ray Charles, and others.
