Description:
This is the 21st and first solo acoustic album by veteran blues guitarist Tinsley Ellis! This album is a compilation of studio recordings of the acoustic live performances he has made his life's work in recent years, in addition to his work with blues-rock bands. The album features intricate fingerpicking, intense slide guitar, and soulful vocals. The album features original blues inspired by Skip James and Robert Johnson, as well as covers by Sun House, Willie Dixon, Leo Cocke, and others. Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1957 and raised in Florida, Tinsley Ellis began playing guitar at the age of 7 when he saw the Beatles and fell in love with the blues through the Yardbirds, Cream, and the Allman Brothers. In 1981, he formed The Heartfixers with veteran harpist Chicago Bob Nelson, who released four albums, including "Cool On It" in 1986, and in 1988, he signed with Alligator and made his solo debut with "Georgia Blue.In the 2000s, he continued to release albums on the Capricorn and Telarc labels, and in 2005 he returned to Alligator with "Live: Highwayman". His most recent album is 2022's Devil May Care. Over the years, he has performed with legends such as Otis Rush, James Cotton, Gregg Allman, and Albert Collins. He has performed live in the United States and around the world.
