The 34th new album from R&B legends Kool & the Gang, long-time big hitters with hits like "Jungle Boogie" and "Celebration"! Led by founding members Robert "Cool" Bell (bass) and George "Funky" Brown (keyboards, drummer, producer), the album features young singers Sha Sha Jones and Dominic Callan, rapper Ami Miller, and more. From funky, good-humored party tunes to jazzy ballads, this is a powerful work that sums up their own legacy. Kool & the Gang is a funk band formed in New Jersey in 1964 by brothers Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell. Although the band was an instrumental band and did not have any hits when they first formed, they made their big breakthrough with "Funky Stuff" and "Jungle Boogie" from their 1973 album "Wild and Peaceful".The band had a long hiatus from hit records, but in 1979, vocalist James "JT" Taylor joined the group, and the band had a string of big hits, including "Ladies Night," "Celebration" in 1980, "Get Down On It" in 1981, and "Joanna" in 1983, and entered its heyday. Although Ronald Bell, a founding member of the band, passed away in 2020, and Dennis Thomas passed away in 2021, the band released "Perfect Union" in 2021, showing that they are still going strong. In 2021, they released "Perfect Union" to show that they are in good health.
