Gordon Campbell, a drummer, producer & multi-instrumentalist who has performed with top artists in the LA music scene in a variety of genres including soul, gospel and jazz, presents his first fully-fledged solo album! This is the finest black music he could have assembled with Kamasi Washington, Sheila E., and vocalists Gene Noble, BJ the Chicago Kid, PJ Morton, Alex Isley, and many more! Gordon Campbell was born in New Haven, Connecticut and raised in New York State, where he began playing drums at the age of five in his grandfather's church, where he was a pastor, and honed his skills in a gospel band. He later studied music in earnest, mastering keyboards and bass. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Howard University and began his career as a professional musician. In 1993, he toured with the R&B group Shai, which took the world by storm at the time. In 1993, he toured with Shai, the R&B group that dominated the scene at the time, and moved to Los Angeles, where he became a successful musician who was invited to tour with such luminaries as Earth, Wind & Fire, George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Mary J. Blige, Eric Benay, and many others.At the same time, he also worked as a producer and director, directing music for many movies and TV shows, including the hit movie "Dreamgirls". He is currently the director of DefJam artist Ne-Yo. After 20 years in the LA music and entertainment industry, he is now ready to release his first solo album.
