Jim Lauderdale, who was just 22 years old, recorded this previously unreleased work in 1979 with the help of veteran mandolin player Roland White, who was already working with his brother Clarence White (formerly of The Byrds) with the Kentucky Kernels, and it is now available on CD for the first time. This is Jim's first album, and a valuable one that was to be the start of what would become an illustrious career. Recorded in the basement studio of Earl Scruggs' home in Nashville, this is a forgotten classic with a whiff of New Bluegrass.
