Seven years after their last album "FIRE", Triple Fire finally released their latest album "EXTRA", a double CD set with an instrumental disc. The sheer musical diversity of the newest album, "EXTRA," is a far cry from the best catchphrase Triple Fire could have come up with, "The Joy Division of Takadanobaba," as they were called when they first came out. However, who are they then? Talking Heads? George Clinton?" The result is an originality that can only be described as "Tora-san of Shibamata" or "Triple Fire of Takadanobaba". After a difficult birth process, the result is a baby that is more pop and entertaining than ever, and can proudly say that "Triple Fire" has reached its peak. The band has successfully sublimated Afro-beat, funk, rock, Brazil, and their predecessors' masterpieces, which are all mixed together, into brand new music with the band's primary guiding principle of what they want to express.Strong support from Wakana Ikeda (Flute), Shigeki Numazawa (Keyboards), Shimada Boy (Percussion), PLASTICMAI (M6 Guest Vocal), recording by Tomomi Baba, mixing and mastering by The Anticipation Illicit Tsuboi The members were able to arrive at the image they wanted to achieve more than ever before. As a result, "fun and danceable music," the foundation of their music, appears one after another, just like the characters depicted on the cover. The sound is led by Masamichi Torii (guitar), with Yoshiyuki Yamamoto (bass), Sho Ogaki (drums), Yasunao Yoshida (vocals), and other guests providing the music, which is both unique and incredibly fun. The band's sound, including vocal and flow, is a golden combination of the lyrics of vocalist Yasunao Yoshida, who is also active in writing essays and screenplays, and his "write what you really think" style of writing. The key point of this world-class, mysterious music is that the multiplication of the lyrics of Yoshida Yasunao, who is an active vocalist, and the band's exploration of sound, including vocal flow, are established as a golden rule. The words ooze out of Yoshida's self, yet the world of the poem feels like God's point of view.The "struggle and resignation" that comes from aging and facing the phase of being treated like an old man. The songs are a lineup of songs that no one has ever sung before, but that you can only relate to. ＜The songs are all full of songs that no one has ever sung before and that you can only sympathize with. With not only interesting words, but also more melodious songs and stylish sound than ever before, this is a great masterpiece after 7 years of life, which I have a feeling will reach more people. This is the kind of interesting music coming out of Japan in this day and age, isn't it? This is the new album we have been waiting for, and we want to nod our heads in agreement with such a hypothesis.
