Treasure Ark, a series of quality live recordings! Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" period with the original members! Recorded live at Ontario Speedway Park, California on April 6, 1974, when Black Sabbath was at the peak of their popularity. In other words, this is the performance at the famous "California Jam. The talk of the town that day was inevitably about Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore destroying TV cameras and blowing up a marshal, but Sabbath was on stage one night before that, when the sky was still light. It was strange to see Sabbath playing under the blue California sky, but what was even stranger was that Tony Iommi was unusually clean-shaven at the time. At the time, Sabbath was after the release of their fifth album, "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (1973) (no original album was released in 1974), and up to this point, all of their albums had been in the single digits on the charts in the UK. In the U.S., they were generally around #10, but still in great shape, selling over 1 million copies in each case. Ozzy is still looking healthy, too: after releasing "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" in November 1973, he started a tour from Newcastle on December 9. He toured the UK and Europe through January, and then North America throughout February. The first leg ends here, and the band will start touring the UK again in May, with the "California Jam" taking place during the interval.It is said that 250,000 people (number of tickets sold) gathered at the venue that day, and contrary to Ritchie Blackmore, who was in a super mood afterwards, Sabbath seemed to be in a good mood and their performance was in great shape. Three songs from the September 4, 75 Santa Monica show were added as bonus tracks.
