The Kinks, who have been in the news ever since Ray Davies said they were reuniting in 2018, have released a 52-track album of live broadcast recordings from 1964 to 1968 that have been preserved by the BBC! The Kinks are a band that has been difficult to understand in Japan, but the live recordings of their early years, from their debut as a beat band in 1964, produced by Shel Talmy, to their heyday in 1968, when their sound began to change drastically and they were about to enter their heyday, are a surprising and unique collection of live recordings before their concept-based album-making reputation was established.
