Jack Hardy is a folk singer who was born in Indiana (born in '47), grew up in Colorado, and came to NY/Greenwich Village in the early 70s. We are pleased to present a collection of his early original albums from his debut to his seventh, namely "Jack Hardy" (1971), "Mirror of My Madness" (1976), "The Nameless One" (1978), "Landmark" (1982), "White Shoes" (1982), " Cauldron" (1984), and "The Hunter" (1987), seven of which were added to the Big Pink Series lineup. In Japan, Hardy's third album began to attract attention from some dedicated fans amid the "human song" boom that Blackhawk was advocating at the time, and this reissue will be the first appearance of Hardy's work in Japan. Hardy, whose albums have all been released on his own Great Divine label, has always turned his back on the major music scene, but he has also been active in the music scene not only as a performer but also as an organizer of workshops for up-and-coming songwriters known as the Songwriters Exchange, and as the first editor-in-chief of the music magazine Fast Folk, which grew out of the workshops.
