Description:
A tribute to Brazilian music by two flutists. Kido, who has been active in Brazil and other countries after playing with Lisa Ono Band, and Honshuk, who leads "Hasha Fora" in NYC. The meeting of these two flutists, deeply inspired by Brazilian music, has produced a unique sound. Yuka Kido, who has performed Brazilian music in Rio and Tokyo, and Hiro Honshuku, who has been pursuing Brazilian music based in Boston and NYC, met in Boston in May 2017 and began a new challenge. They have been performing and recording mainly in Boston as the Love To Brasil Project. Kido, who has inhaled a lot of Brazilian air, and Honshuk, who has been honed on the cutting edge of jazz, have recorded an album of one-of-a-kind arrangements of Brazilian standards and newly written songs. The cover art is a sheet music of the recorded songs presented to the two by Hermeto Pascoal.
