The film traces the path of a poor boy who lost his father at an early age, from his origins as a sketch artist while attending a bullfighting school, to his awakening to "Botelism," the exaggeration of objects, to his rise to the top of the art world, where his "Mona Lisa at 12" was exhibited at MoMA and garnered instant attention. Behind his success, there is also the story of discrimination due to his Colombian origins, criticism of his paintings, and the tragedy of the death of his beloved son and the loss of part of his dominant hand, all told with tears. The film also includes a tearful account of the death of his beloved son and the tragedy of losing part of his own limbs.
