In 2018, there was a reunion that surprised melodic rock fans: the Swedish band UNIVERSE, which released a self-titled album in 1985 in the mid-80s and regrettably disbanded after just one album, but was regarded as a hidden gem among enthusiasts, is back after 33 years The Swedish band UNIVERSE, which released a self-titled album 85 years ago and regrettably disbanded after only one album, is back with a new name, UNIVERSE INFINITY. They released their second album "Rock Is Alive". The members are Mikael Kling (G), Per Nilsson (G), Hasse Hagman (B), Fredrik Krisztrom (Keys), and Anders Wetterstrom (Ds), except for Andreas Eklund (vocalist). The band's fans were delighted to find that, although some parts had been refined over the past 30 years, the melodies that were so melancholy and uniquely Scandinavian were still as strong as ever, as they had been on their debut album. After the release of the album, the band reported on social networking sites that they were playing shows intermittently and writing songs for the next album at the same time. The band's activities seemed to be going well.However, after the summer of 2021, when the world was in the midst of the Corona pandemic, the band stopped updating information, and everyone thought they had spontaneously disappeared. However, in the summer of 2022, a band called UNIVERSE III was quietly formed and a SNS account was created. UNIVERSE III was a revival of UNIVERSE INFINITY in a new form. The band's name was changed again, but the biggest change was that the name of Mikael Kling, who was a key figure in the formation of UNIVERSE, was no longer in the band. The band has opted to form a new entity, UNIVERSE III, and since its inception in the summer of 2022 has been playing shows and regularly releasing updates on the recording of new songs. The band indicated that they were nearing completion of a new album. In the spring of 2024, the third new album was finally completed and released to the world.Despite member changes and a band name change, this work, with the same attitude and soul that have been present since their debut, is sure to satisfy fans of the melodic side of music.
