Description:
Mork, the black metal project by Thomas Eriksen that started in Halden (Norway) in 2004, has completed a new album. The most expressive and diverse album to date, "Shiv", released on Peaceville Records. A darker follow-up to Udad, the project that mastermind Thomas Eriksen debuted this year, Syv is the new culmination of an ever-evolving journey by Mork and Eriksen that expands their creativity both sonically and song-wise beyond their previous work and Syv is also the culmination of Mork and Eriksen's ongoing journey of evolution. Syv is also arguably Mork's most expressive and diverse work to date, with exquisite melodies interspersed with brutal and sometimes progressive riffs, while melancholy is always in the air. Syv was performed, recorded, and mixed by Eriksen himself, with engineering assisted by Freddy Holm (who also played strings and synths). Mastering was done by renowned studio mastering guru Maor Appelbaum (Sepultura) in collaboration with Jack Control of Enormous Door (Darkthrone).Formed in 2004 by Thomas Eriksen, Mork was a side project until their debut album "Isebakke" in 2013. Since then, constant releases and live performances across various continents have led the band to be hailed as one of the top Norwegian black metal acts of recent years.
