Description:

Coffin Storm is a new band featuring members of Norwegian doom metal band Ramented Souls and Fenriz from Darkthrone. The band has released its debut album, "Arcana Rising," a stunning blend of classic heavy metal, slow thrash, and doom. Norway's Coffin Storm combines Apollyon (Aura Noir/Lamented Souls) and Bestial Tormentor (Inferno/Lamented Souls) with Darkthrone's Fenriz on vocals. This new band is a veteran trio from Corboton. And their first result is their debut album, "Arcana Ris," which is a stunning blend of classic heavy metal, slow thrash, and doom. The album contains six metallic epics covering a 45-minute running time and was recorded in various studios in the band's native Norway.Inspired by metal masters such as Candlemass, Pentagram, Metallica, and early Kreator, the band adds musical references from the extreme side of the doom spectrum, such as early Paradise Lost and Cathedral. In addition, Apollyon and BestialTormentor added traces of DNA from their work with cult doom act Lamented Souls to create a sensational and majestic opus. Mastering was done by Jack Control of Enormous Door (Darkthrone), with cover art by Polish artist Maciej Kamuda.
