Ibibio Sound Machine, a disco band led by London-born Nigerian female singer Eno Williams and multi-instrumentalist Max Grunhard. With their fifth album, Pull the Rope, produced by Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, M.I.A.), Ibibio Sound Machine's new album, Pull the Rope, is the first release from the Eno Williams and Max Grunhard led by Eno Williams and Max Grunhard, sheds a new light on this band. The hope, joy, and sexiness of their music remains intact, but the edge of their acclaimed 2022 album, Electricity, has been further honed, and the connections they seek to foster have been moved from sun-drenched festival venues to sweaty all-night dance clubs! . But while the atmosphere has changed, they are still having the time of their lives.Williams and Grunhard spent two weeks recording Pull the Rope with Sheffield-based producer Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, M.I.A.). Instead of Eno writing lyrics to the music that emerged from Max's conducting jams, Eno and Max began writing together. With less time in the studio and a new way to think about songwriting, the duo was able to make decisions about the album's sound more quickly and more instinctively than before. The fusion of songwriting processes has done the trick of making Ibibio Sound Machine a tighter band than ever before with flying colors.
