For the past few years, Shin Sasakubo has been collaborating with various artists and releasing ambitious works. His new work is a return to his roots, playing Andean music from the Ayacucha region of Peru throughout. The music on this album is Andean music from the Ayacucho region of Peru. The music on this album is Andean music from the Ayacucho region of Peru, recorded in a special guitar tuning called Temple Baulin (*the tuning of the indigenous Andean people). Layqa Taki is a word meaning "magical song or shaman's song" in Quechua, the language of the indigenous people. The name comes from the fact that one day, when Shin Sasakubo played in the plaza of a Sancos village, a resident called him, "You are Layqa Taki, aren't you? This guitar album is a condensation of the magical and spellbinding sounds of Andean music. This is the 43rd album in total.
