Her voice is layered with transparency and nostalgia. A collection of ballads by Misuzu Ichikawa, a popular vocalist in the Tokyo jazz scene. She sings some of the most famous songs in history simply as a duo with piano, recorded live in the studio without any pitch correction! This is a DUO work with piano by Misuzu Ichikawa, a jazz singer popular for her clear and nostalgic voice. In contrast to her previous album of Beatles jazz covers, which was well received for its crazy arrangements, this album is a collection of extremely simple ballads. The challenge was to record the songs in one shot in the same room as the piano, which makes any pitch correction impossible. Together with pianist Makoto Nakamura, who is engaged in his own artistic activities such as solo bicycle tours throughout Japan, farming, and organizing music camps, the group performs standard tunes by Cole Porter, Kurt Weill, and others, as well as songs by Joni Mitchel, Burt Bacharach, Bill Evans, and others. In addition to standard favorites by Cole Porter and Kurt Weill, he also performs music by Joni Mitchel, Burt Bacharach and Bill Evans.
