Horace Andy is a legendary Jamaican singer with a beautiful falsetto and a great sense of melody, as well as a supporter of Massive Attack, who transcends genres and borders and has always been at the forefront of Jamaican music! Since the 90's, Horace Andy has participated in all of Massive Attack's studio albums and has always been a key member of their touring lineup. In creating Midnight Roker, producer Adrian Sherwood followed the approach he learned from working with Lee Scratch Perry on his "Rainford" and "Heavy Rain" albums, which is appropriate for the work of a musician at his peak of maturity. The team of top-notch musicians was assembled. We assembled a team of top-notch musicians and spent months perfecting the performances, arrangements, and mixing. The resulting songs are painstakingly crafted, backed by superior technique, and result in songs that further accentuate the appeal of Horace Andy's one-of-a-kind voice. Some of the songs, such as "Mr. Bassie," are self-covers of existing Horace Andy classics, but many, such as "Watch Over Them" and "Materialist," are newly composed songs with contemporary messages.It also includes some of Horace Andy's deepest interactions with the group Massive Attack, including a new version of the very popular early song "Safe From Harm". The original "Safe From Harm" featured Shara Nelson on vocals, but here Horace is on the mic. Interestingly, Shara Nelson had recorded with Adrian Sherwood a few years before Massive Attack started, and the little-known 1983 street soul classic "Aiming At Your Heart" is a blueprint for the later Massive Attack sound.
