The action fantasy period drama "Yasuke - YASUKE" took three years to complete. The film was conceived, produced, and directed by Lashon Thomas, with animation production by MAPPA, which has received high acclaim both in Japan and abroad for such works as "Dorohedoro", "Shinkage no Kyojin The Final Season", and "Jujutsu Kaisen", and character design by Ken Koike ("LUPIN the Third - The Woman called Fujiko Mine Fujiko", "LUPIN the Third", "LUPIN the Third", "LUPIN the Third"). Mine Fujiko") is in charge of character design.And Academy Award-nominated actor Laquise Stanfield, who plays Yasuke, is the star of this fantasy period drama that brings together world-class talent, for which Flying Lotus not only serves as music but also as executive producer. The soundtrack consists almost entirely of instrumental pieces, and its beat production and composition recall the style of the earlier films. On the other hand, the vocal tracks are performed by Thundercat, who also displays his outstanding bass playing throughout, and is joined on vocals by longtime collaborator Niki Randa, who also sings the opening theme, and up-and-coming rapper Denzel Curry.The life of Yasuke, an African-Japanese who lived during the Warring States period, was overlaid with his own thoughts and feelings to create a work of art that is essential to the story of Flying Lotus.
