A former core member of Battles, Braxton's solo career has included collaborations with minimalist music master Philip Glass and concerts with world-renowned orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, London Sinfonietta, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the Wordless Music Orchestra in New York City. Taiyoondai Braxton, who has been in the spotlight for his talent and career as a contemporary musician, has released his latest solo album on the long-established NONESUCH RECORDS label, his first in six years. Already performed at the Barbican Centre in London as part of the label's 50th anniversary celebrations, "HIVE" consists of a futuristic oval pod designed by Danish architect Uffe Sarland van Tams and an ensemble of five musicians sitting on top of it.
