Started by members who have worked in prestigious choirs and ensembles such as Collegium Vocale Ghent, Cinquecento, Grand Lavoie, Capilla Flamenca, and Huelgas Ensemble, and based at the Cartesian Monastery in Mauerbach, Austria, the ensemble has been performing Renaissance Franco= The group sings mainly the music of Renaissance Franco-Flemish polyphony. The ensemble has built its reputation on recordings of masses by Renaissance masters such as Okegem, La Rue, and Obrecht, as well as by the little-known Flemish school, and has further enhanced its reputation with the 2021 release of Palestrina's "Mass of Pope Marcellus" (PFB2017671).In this latest album, the composer Johannes Tinktriss, a Flemish composer who was also an influential music theorist, and Barbangan, a French composer who is said to have had an important influence on Okeghem, take us on a journey to discover the unknown masterpieces of the 15th century.
