For a young performer, the release of a debut CD is a decisive first step in his or her career. However, it is not easy for a young newcomer to make a strong impression in a market that is already filled with recordings of a great deal of traditional repertoire. Pianist Christian Erny has taken this handicap into account and has chosen repertoire that he is comfortable with and has succeeded in creating an impressive album. In this performance, Debussy's "Preludes" and Liszt's minor works are combined, and one realizes that their works, which would normally have little in common, are indeed closely connected. Christian Erny was born in 1988 in Winter, Switzerland, and is a pianist with a diverse musical background: he entered the Conservatory of Music at the age of six, studied piano, choral music, and pop music, and from an early age gave recitals not only in Switzerland but also in Germany and the United States. In 2015, she won the "Schoenberg Prize" at the Ile-de-France International Competition and has recently become active as a choral conductor. Naxos Japan
