Rare versions of Humperdinck's arrangements of Wagner's works for soprano and chamber orchestra! Wagner's works in a rare chamber music arrangement, including "Prelude to "Tristan und Isolde" with arrangement and finale by Humperdinck! The world premiere recording of Simone Fontanelli's chamber arrangement of the Lieder! This is a live recording of the German chamber ensemble Kammermusik Köln's project to perform chamber music arrangements of Wagner's works, which was presented at their "10+1" anniversary concert. Humperdinck's arrangement of the lesser-known chamber version of the Prelude to "Tristan und Isolde" features a new finale added by Humperdinck. The "Wesendonk Lieder" and three songs in French were arranged by Italian musician Simone Fontanelli, and both are world premiere recordings. The "Siegfried Pastorale," originally written for chamber orchestra, is also included.Born and raised in Paderborn, Germany, soprano Katrin Zukowski studied voice and opera at the Detmold University of Music, where she was a member of the Cologne Opera's ensemble of young ardists. She was subsequently selected as a soloist at the Cologne Opera and signed a permanent contract with the company in 2021. Recently, she has also performed as a soloist in the New Year's Concert of the Wiener Tonkünstlerorchester, and is expected to make even greater strides in the future. The Kammermusik Köln is a high-level ensemble consisting of members of the Cologne Gürzenich Orchestra and the WDR Symphony Orchestra, renowned soloists, music academy professors, and freelance chamber musicians. The ensemble has established itself as a cultural institution in the German music capitals of Cologne and Bonn and is actively engaged in a wide repertoire, from the great works written for chamber music to arrangements such as the one on this album.
