Beethoven Trio Bonn! Piano Trio version of "The Countryside"! The Beethoven Trio Bonn (BTB) is an up-and-coming German piano trio that has made its name known by recording and performing "piano trio arrangements" of rare Russian repertoire and orchestral works by Georgy Sviridov and Aleksandr Alyabiev. The Beethoven Anniversary Album is a three-volume series that presents a program of Beethoven's original works for piano trio and piano trio arrangements from his orchestral works. The third and final volume is a combination of Beethoven's famous piano trio, "Songs of the Town" and Symphony No. 6 "The Countryside". Chamber music versions of orchestral works were commonplace at the time, and in the decades since its premiere, "The Countryside" (despite its initial lack of acclaim due to its innovative nature) has also appeared in arrangements for string sextet, piano 2 hands, 4 hands, 8 hands, flute quartet, and more.The first to write a piano trio version was Christian Gottlieb Berke (1796-1875), a master flutist (and member of the Gewandhaus Orchestra) who was also a friend of Brahms.
