Description:
The Marriage of Figaro" is performed by the Marcolini Quartet, a quartet composed of members of the Concerto Cologne and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, both of which are renowned as orchestras of ancient music. The quartet uses a string quartet version from 1799, which was kept in the archives of the Melk Abbey in Austria. The arranger is unknown, but the arrangements are of high quality, focusing on the arias and major choruses that everyone in the work knows.
