Born in 1956, Detlef Heusinger studied with Hans Werner Henze and Luigi NONO and has established himself as a guitarist as well as a composer and conductor. The electric guitar plays a central role in all of the works included here, and he skillfully utilizes the electronic sounds of the SWR Experimental Studio, of which he is the director, as well as instruments such as the theremin, to captivate listeners with thrilling, mysterious sounds and sharp edges.
