Golteberg Variations for Guitar Solo! Golteberg Variations" for Guitar Solo! Faibli's arrangement faithfully reproduces the charm of the original on guitar! Walter Faibli is a virtuoso musician who won first prizes at the International Competitions of Alessandria (1972) and "Fernando Sol" (Palermo/Rome, 1973), and prizes at the "International Music Competition" in Geneva (1975) and at the ORTF in Paris (1979). He has performed internationally as a duo with guitar, flute, cello, and voice, and toured the Netherlands (including Concertgebouw Amsterdam) as soloist in orchestral concerts; from 1976 to 2018 he taught at the conservatories of Zurich and Basel, and in recent years he has been teaching J.S. Bach's works, and in recent years has concentrated on the works of J.S. Bach. In this album, Faivry strives to be as faithful as possible to the original Goltberg Variations and to create harmonious combinations, deliberately arranging the variations in a way that is reminiscent of the movements of the suite. The result is a Golberg Variations that sounds as natural on the guitar as if it had been played on a keyboard instrument as originally intended. Tokyo M-Plus
