Pianist Lisa Maria Schachtchneider from Berlin, Germany, says the bicentennial of Clara Schumann's birth in 2019 was the inspiration for this album, FEMINAE (Latin for "women") From 18th century Gambarini to 20th century The album includes works by a wide range of female composers, from 18th century Gambarini to 20th century Komarova and Schenker, as well as works by male composer Robert Schumann from a gender-balanced perspective.
