This Shostakovich album features the Northwest German Philharmonic, a German orchestra based in Herford, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, whose chief conductors have included Andris Nelsons, Toshiyuki Ueoka, and Hermann Scherchen in the past. Conductor Erich Poltz is a promising young conductor from Austria, who is the principal conductor of the Vienna chamber orchestra Modus 21, which he founded in 2013, and has emerged as the assistant conductor and chorus conductor of "The 24 Hour Ring" at the Erl-Tirol Music Festival. He is also the assistant conductor and chorus conductor of "The 24 Hour Ring" at the Erl-Tyrol Music Festival. The soloist for "Piano Concerto No. 2" will be Sabine Weyer, a young female artist born in Luxembourg in 1988.
