Description:
A collection of solo flute pieces composed between 1960 and 2000! Flutist Mirjam Nastasi, who was born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, studied flute and musicology in Utrecht and Freiburg, and was the head professor of the flute department at the Freiburg University of Music, has recorded a series of period-by-period recordings of small pieces for flute from his own revised music collection. This volume includes works composed between 1960 and 2000 among the contemporary period. This period was a time of expansion for the flute in all aspects, and many new techniques were tried out in composition, interpretation, and teaching. Many of the works included in this collection make full use of techniques and tones that had not been used much before, and make the most of the flute's versatile expressive capabilities.
