A collection of piano transcriptions of orchestral music by pianist François-Xavier Poissat, born in Grenoble, France in 1989. Poissat studied piano at the Geneva Conservatory, the Hamburg University of Music and Drama, the Juilliard School, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and has studied with Alexei Golovin and Evgeny Korolyov. Martha Argerich was also a major influence on his development, inviting the 12-year-old to Japan's Pacific Music Festival. There, Poitras was described as "a young pianist of deep lyricism and astonishing virtuosity," and he began to attract international attention. This release includes the piano versions of works by Liszt and Stravinsky themselves, as well as three famous arrangements by Pletnoyov, Feinberg, and Volodos, which require extremely high levels of technique and musicality. The works written for orchestra are performed colorfully with the astonishing virtuosity that the orchestra possesses. Tokyo M-Plus
