Description:
Bertrand de Billy, the right wing of the world's most remarkable conductor, will perform "Eroica" in anticipation of his debut in Japan! Bertrand de Billy was born in Paris in 1965. Bertrand de Billy was born in Paris in 1965 and made his debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London (1995), Berlin State Opera (1996), Opéra Bastille in Paris (1996), Théâtre Monet in Brussels (1996), Hamburg State Opera (1997), and Bayerisches Landestheater (1997), all in rapid succession. He also made his debut at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in 2001 and at the Salzburg Festival in the summer of 2002, winning international acclaim. She made her U.S. debut at the Washington Opera in 1997 with Gounod's "Romeo and Juliet" at the invitation of Domingo, at the Met in 1998, and at the Los Angeles Opera in the same year with "Carmen".In 2005, he conducted "Samson and Delilah", "Turandot", and "Romeo and Juliet". In 2002, he became Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in 2006 he was appointed Principal Conductor of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, a position he held until its renovation in 2006. Since 2006, he has been a member of the resident orchestra of the renovated Theatre an der Wien. This disc is the latest album with de Billy and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the main program of his Japan debut concert with the orchestra. After a series of remarkable recordings of Mozart's three major operas, modern music from their native France, Schubert from Vienna, the orchestra's home, and Berlioz's Requiem, a major work for voices, they have finally taken up Beethoven, a repertoire that demands to be heard for what it really is. The tight ensemble, polished details, and transparency of sound are superb, and the fresh and moving performance is a masterpiece by these musicians who are bringing a breath of fresh air to the Viennese music scene.
