After numerous acclaimed collaborations, including "AGUA DULCE" with percussionist LAURA ROBLES and "MAPAMBAZUKO" with Congolese guitarist TITI BAKORTA, Peruvian artist ALEJANDRA CARDENAS, aka ALE HOP, returns with his most personal work to date, "A BODY LIKE A HOME. ALE HOP, Peruvian artist ALEJANDRA CARDENAS returns with his most personal work to date, A BODY LIKE A HOME. The work, his first under his own name, is an autobiographical soundscape that intricately intertwines themes of trauma, recovery, and love. The soundscape is a collage of cathartic and delicate electric guitars, textures of electronics, ethereal violins by Mexican musician Gibrana Cervantes, rain, muffled whispers, the sound of breaking glass, and footage of Peruvian protests. A field recording of a collage of sounds ranging from rain, faint whispers, and broken glass to footage of protests in Peru... At the heart of the music is the voice of CARDENAS himself, giving the work a strong impact and originality.
