Description:

The band's first single, "Magic Plant," which was played on BBC Radio 6 Music, is a condensed version of the band's signature blend of hypnotic grooves, lush percussion, and fluffy synthesizers, and it sounds like Jimi Tenor lost in the Colombian Amazon, It is a condensed blend of the band's signature hypnotic grooves, lush percussion, and fluffy synthesizers that sounds like Jimi Tenor lost in the Colombian Amazon. Huachuma, also previously released, blends Afrobeat percussion, swirling basslines, and psychedelic ornamental sounds into a hallucinatory jam for the tropical dance floor. High Grow" is a bewitching track reminiscent of "The X-Files," set in Addis Ababa. Ethiojazz-esque synthesizers dance and trip over a relentless Mulatu-esque bass line and Afrobeat drums, immersed in an ominous dub delay. Perfect for a dimly lit, smoke-filled room late at night.Like a lost Idris Akamoor & The Pyramids and The Comet Is Coming, "Lonely" is a sledgehammer of cosmic synth funk and intense Afro-rock drums, with an acoustic bassline that breaks into a frenetic solo a minute in. The seamless follow-up, "Cozumel," shifts into a slightly slower groove based on a deep electric bassline and an Afro-laten four-piece rhythm that gradually builds in energy and the tension is finally released. There is something in the spiritual core and soulful presence of this music that is reminiscent of the groundbreaking work of Jamaican legends Count Ozzie and Cedric Brooks, who combined jazz and Rastafari drumming. Gunawa, cumbia, Afrobeat, dub & roots reggae, and cosmic jazz. Rooted in traditional music from around the world, but shaped for the modern dance floor, this deeply hypnotic groove is sure to get the floor roaring here in Japan!
