Description:

The Kinks, a great British rock group and a treasure of British music! Celebrating their 60th anniversary this year, the Kinks released four albums in the second half of their "theatrical/concept album period" in the early 70's, which are now being reissued on analog vinyl! The Kinks, a great British Rock group and a treasure of British music, will celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2023. The Kinks began in Muswell Hill, north London, with brothers Ray and Dave Davies and their friend Pete Quaife, and after Mick Avory joined the group in early 1964, they quickly established themselves as one of the leading groups of the 60's. Their sound and style remain timeless to this day. Their sound and style are still influential and timeless today, making them a British Rock band worthy of the word "great".The band's four albums released between 1973 and 1975 are now being reissued on black analog vinyl! The albums to be reissued in black analog are "PRESERVATION ACT 1" released in 1973 and "PRESERVATION ACT 2" released in 1974, a grand concept album spanning two albums, as well as two concept albums released in 1975 under the title "The Kinks PRESERVATION ACT 1 and PRESERVATION ACT 2, both released in 1974, as well as two concept albums, SOAP OPERA and SCHOOLBOYS IN DISGRACE, both released in 1975 with the title "Presents". PRESERVATION ACT 1 is The Kinks' 12th studio album, a concept album released on November 16, 1973 on RCA. Using the nostalgia of the charming little town of Village Green as a template, it was the band's most ambitious project, an epic rock opera that portrayed the whole of society and its workings over the course of two albums.Telling a story with a smattering of themes from their 1968 classic THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY, it was described by Rolling Stone as "a very listenable and very enjoyable album" and includes such Ray Davies signature songs as "Sitting in the It features such Ray Davies masterpieces as "Sitting in the Midday Sun" and "Sweet Lady Genevieve". This is the first re-press of the original 1973 album since its original release in 1973, with the exception of a US-only reissue in 2008, This is a must-have for fans of The Kinks.
